“La Playa”

S/S 2024 Styling Editorial Collection

Latinidad is here to Stay

In color is where Latinos exist…

“La Playa” is a collection inspired by Bad Bunny’s album Un Verano Sin Ti, which continues to hold a historic place on the Billboard charts as one of the most-streamed albums of all time.

The album itself explores the Latino experience, addressing themes such as lack of representation, violence, and the political unrest faced daily—particularly in the ongoing struggle for Puerto Rican visibility and broader Latino representation in the United States.

La Playa” was created to visually represent unity and Latinidad through my perspective. It celebrates diversity and inclusion, support, and the beauty that Latino cultures bring to the world. Color plays a central role in this work. It reflects not only the vibrancy of our flags, but also the diversity within our people and traditions.

Color is deeply embedded in Latino culture—from food and celebrations to traditional dances and clothing. Many of our countries are home to breathtaking landscapes that connect us to our roots and our motherlands. In this context, color becomes a symbol of joy, resilience, and cultural pride, expressed through people, cuisine, and movement.

At its core, this collection emphasizes the beauty of unity and acceptance across cultures and communities.

As Bad Bunny says, “The only thing more powerful than hate is love.”
